How can you find someone at the top of the corporate ladder to help you grow into your next position?
Many of the managers and Agile professionals would like to grow to a more senior role to be able to make a bigger impact and take on a higher responsibility.
But if you're one of them, you may face a challenge - resistance.
Not everyone can grow their career successfully, and many people wait for decades.
Most people who successfully progress have someone at the very top who helps them achieve their growth objectives.
How can you increase loyalty to yourself as a professional so you're promoted and supported in your career?
Here's a lesson from Dr. Cialdini and his principle of Unity that helps increase loyalty through co-creation.
Dr. Cialdini researched companies that were successful in making their customers bonded with them and, therefore, loyal to their brands.
These companies invited customers to participate in a process to update their offerings by providing their preferences, desirable features, and other valuable data.
There's a good reason why companies use co-creation to build their customers' loyalty.
Customers who have a strong feeling of shared identity and values with the brand tend to ignore the information about product failures in determining their loyalty toward the brand.
Of all the marketing practices, co-creation is one of the most powerful, and we should commission its power when it's available to us.
How can this principle help you, a corporate professional?
It's very simple.
Involve top-level executives in the co-creation process for your career.
Most of the executives went through their career path and have a lot of experience.
Many of them will happily share their advice with someone ambitious, determined, and loyal to them.
If you could demonstrate that, ask them for their advice, and talk about their values, you could create a shared identity.
And if they recognize you as a 10-year-younger self, they will be willing to help you grow and succeed.
Get powerful mentors in your organization and create loyalty to you as a professional through the Unity principle.
